The Buchan Building is LEED Gold Certified with plenty of natural light. Greet and register your guests in the spacious two-story atrium and then invite them into the Buchan Reception Hall, a modern and welcoming space that accommodates up to 160 people seated. The hall has two moveable partitions that create a variety of combinations of available space. It also has a built-in projector, screen, and sound system for presentations and film screenings.
A selection of additional spaces are available for your next meeting. Ranging from the “formal parlor” ambiance of the Channing Room, to the glass-enclosed, third-floor Executive Conference Room, Eliot Center has a space certain to inspire your guests.
Conferences
Prime Location with Easy Access
Conferences at Eliot Center provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience a true “sense of place” in downtown Portland. With multiple buildings covering one square block, venues range from those listed on the National Register of Historic Places, to those that are newly-built and LEED Certified - a stimulating experience for conference attendees as they journey from space to space. But even more importantly, the aesthetic ensures that conference guests intuit the purpose behind the space: to build community.
For breakout sessions, there are fourteen multi-purpose rooms distributed over three floors of space. The rooms accommodate between 12 and 75 people. Several large classrooms have moveable partitions that create various combinations of space. Many of the rooms are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, allowing natural light to permeate the space and providing spectacular views of the city.
Weddings
Joyous Memories to Last a Lifetime
Begin your life as a couple as you share your vows in the historic Eliot Chapel, built in 1924. The Chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a beautifully-lit, elegant, and uplifting space ideal for weddings of up to 225 guests.
The Buchan Reception Hall is a warm and inviting space for a reception of up to 160 guests. With an outdoor courtyard, a small dance floor, a built-in sound system, and plenty of room in the Atrium for a bar and buffet, you and your guests are invited to relax and enjoy the celebration.
Performances
ENRICH, INFORM, & ENTERTAIN
Eliot Center, with two large auditorium style spaces and two reception halls, is an ideal downtown location for performances and lectures for 50 – 700 people. We offer an array of amenities including: green rooms for performers, complimentary use of our equipment, and assigned A/V staff.
After your performance or lecture, host a reception in one of our adjacent reception halls. You can offer your guests beverage service for just $1.00 per person, hire the caterer of your choice or self-cater, and alcohol is permitted here.
