a unique opportunity for your rental dollars to do more

Eliot Center of First Unitarian Church is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing space for groups to gather and build community in the spirit of diversity and inclusion. We partner with organizations and individuals who share the value of promoting love, reason, and freedom.

Proceeds generated through rental fees are utilized to fund the programs of First Unitarian Church. When you rent at Eliot Center you are directly contributing to the advancement of programs such as these:

Social Justice

The Social Justice program is sustained by the committed involvement of 11 action groups - each of which is engaged with the wider community on specific social justice issues. With the involvement of these groups, the Social Justice Program offers education and opportunities for direct action, advocacy, and service.

Learning Community

The Learning Community program welcomes the opportunity and responsibility to help children and youth become aware of the world as it is, and to nurture within them the compassion and courage that’s needed to help create a world as it deserves to be.

Supports local Work

We had an excellent experience working with Heather, the Community Events Manager, and Eliot Center. Heather handles all of the communication so nothing gets lost in the shuffle, and I found it wonderful that we had so much support the day of the event.

We will definitely work with Eliot Center again in the future: in part because the space is so flexible and accommodating, and also because Eliot Center uses revenue from renters like us to support their programmatic work that benefits the local community.

A Deeper Vision

As creator and producer of the Portland International Guitar Series, I have had the pleasure to work with the Eliot Center and their staff many times. They are excellent to work with, always being professional, courteous, and generous.

The management and leadership of this organization clearly look beyond their rentals as mere business transactions to a deeper vision of how events held at their venues can benefit the community - which is truly admirable.
